Security Testbeds
Our research thrusts contribute to engineering demonstration testbeds. These testbeds will show the benefits to important security systems of advances in these thrusts, provide data and experimental facilities for the thrusts, develop security technology with high potential commercial value, and highlight the approach our center takes. Demonstrations of integration of subsystems into systems, when appropriate, will take place within the testbeds. They are lead by Robert Pless:

Biometrics and Physics-Based Recognition Systems   [Leader: Robert Morley ]
Research on physical properties which can be used to recognize particular objects or people.

Networks of Video Cameras   [Leader: Robert Pless ]
A network of video cameras to be deployed on the fifth floor of Jolley Hall, to test visual surveillance algorithms, advanced electronic systems and privacy policies appropriate for security applications.

Fast Searching of Massive Databases   [Leader: Roger Chamberlain ]
Experimentattion for hardware and software systems which rapidly search very large databases.

High-Speed Network Security   [Leader: John Lockwood ]
Experimental implementations of security protocols on reconfigureable network components.

Security of the Food and Water Supply   [Leader: William Hayden Smith ]
Experimental detection of contaminants in the food and water supply.
